Meet Our Team.

John Hamilton is a fourth-generation carpenter who has learned at a young age the value of first-rate workmanship, respect, dedication, and hard work. He started working with his father, his mentor at 11 years old, on weekends and during summer vacation.

 

He has a vivid memory of being at Home Hardware in Wolfville with his father standing around chatting with other carpenters, in their coveralls, about the work they were doing that day. Sometimes, John felt he was staring but couldn’t help but listen to how they shared ideas and offered to help each other out. Even at that young age, John knew he was destined to be a carpenter.

 

John believes in excellent workmanship and client satisfaction. For 30 years, he heard his father explain why working hard and providing top-notch work was so important. He was making a name for himself and his business. John’s father has passed along those core values. It’s now John’s goal to continue that tradition as the new owner of Heritage Carpentry and Restoration.

 

Besides being a good carpenter, John is a lover of animals, especially his two labs, Jax and Tuck. As an avid fisherman, he also enjoys taking the odd weekend off to spend time on the lake or just some quiet time camping in the woods enjoying nature.
